Chon-Ji
The first pattern Chon-Ji is named after the Lake Chon-Ji, Known as the Heavenly Lake, situated at the top of Mount Baekdu in Korea. Because the waters are so still and clear the reflection of the sky is so perfect, the ancient Koreans believed that Lake Chon-Ji was the bridge between the heaven and the earth, and where the father of Dan Gun descended to earth to begin the human race.
Straight away the student is introduced to the principle of the symbol yin yang, as the Yang (Masculine Heaven) and Yin (Feminine Earth) have believed to have met to create the universe and life it’s self.
In the pattern the low block points to the earth and the middle block points to the heaven
